Chef Peter will never give up. This is serious. He wants you to have your best meal in Vietnam. He wants to strip away preconceptions about Vietnamese food. He wants you to have a good time. He might stand over your table and tell you how to eat your food, but it's because he loves what he does.

Béo Ơi

You’ll become a patron of Béo Ơi before you know it. This is what a proper Hanoian crab noodle soup or fermented pig ears should be – you’ll understand after just one bite. All ingredients are brought down from the North so it’s as authentic as it can get.

Highlight
8

Birdy Bar

Cocktail bar meets the street. Where else can you enjoy a finely made cocktail and order “hu tieu” from a steaming soup cart next to you? Note: the Yaki Tori place in the back has a secret door they can serve you from.

Drink

Highlight
9

Bosgaurus Coffee

Coffee served in a pure white and stainless steel gallery-like zone. Sounds strange? It's a little different, and that is part of what makes BOS. So great. This lab is the ultimate commitment to making the best coffee possible. Excellence takes hard work. We think that is where the name comes from. It's all in plain minimalist sight.

Botanical Gardens

This section of the zoo is really lush and established. It boasts some really strange plants. The concrete greenhouse is something of an architectural wonder, and we're pretty sure you'll be snapping photos in there.

11

Cafe Slow

Something about getting lost in a winding residential hem makes the coffee even better. Even so, Cafe Slow has great coffee, vinyls for sale (which means great music), a beautiful space, and really nice people running the whole show. Make it slow.

Captain Phook

Small, all hits menu served at an indoor / outdoor bar. Eat beautifully considered dishes accompanied by a good wine list, while being basically out on the street.

13

Central Cho Lon

Cho Lon was there before HCMC. Its a historically rich and diverse area. We could send you to dozens of specific shops and vendors in the area, but it would need it's own Trip Tips. Go to the center and take it form there. You'll know you have arrived from the iconic smell of traditional medicine shops.

Danshari Coffee Cho Lon

A cafe that breathes new life to the Cho Lon area. Large windows capture plenty of sunlight, highlighting the white walls that run outside-in. The space is bright and quiet, but not at all cold or sterile, probably due to its positioning in bustling District 5.
